Maytree Rhythm & Blues Band

Frans was born in the picturesque village of Nieuwenhagen. From his 13th he is musically active in numerous bands. In 1985 he founded his first own band, the 'Voorter Blues Band'. In 1989 the name changed in 'MAYTREE RHYTHM & BLUES BAND'.

When Frans started playing guitar he learned particularly songs of Bob Dylan on guitar and harmonica. Frans discovered the Rolling Stones and he became familiar with the blues of Muddy Waters c.s. He also developed several other stringed instruments. Inspired by the Bluegrass music he learned to play banjo and mandolin, and added dobro and lap steel to it. The influence of great examples as Muddy Waters and The Allman Brothers Band are clearly audible in his guitar playing. In addition to this, girlfriend Gerda is the inspiration for many songs on the Maytree-album 'The Lonesome Road of Life'.
